Tour of the Iglesia (Church)
Yesterday, Alyssa, Sarah, Jenny, and I decided to hike up to the church on top of the pyramid in town. It was about a 25 min. walk there and about a 15 min hike up but was well worth it! Here are some of the pictures above!

First Blog...ever
Hey-
Just wanted to start off this adventure with a quick hello and to say that I hope this will have information worth reading!
So far, I've been in Mexico for about 5 days now. The weather, well, isn't quite what I expected. It's been chilly (in no comparison to where I came from) and usually I've needed a sweatshirt or jacket. It has rained off and on a little bit the last few days and I think it's the same storm that was up in Iowa earlier in the week. Today is really nice out though- the sun is shining and it's warm!
Most of the time I'm usually hanging out with Sarah and Alyssa (both from Wartburg) but we've kind of made a group with some other "extranjeros": Nicola is from England, Martina is from Norway, Caleb is from South Carolina, and Gabby is from Canada. So, as you can see, we've got a pretty good mix of people to hang out with and many different forms of English being spoken too! My roommates are Guido (Holland) and Javier, Royer, and Alejandro are from Mexico. One more moved in today (Jorge Louis) but I haven't seen him around much and Diego isn't here yet either. My roommates only speak Spanish so this will be great for me to really get the language down! I'm already excited for the upcoming 4 months!
So, I guess this is a pretty solid start to blogging for me. Especially when I'm not a part of the 50% of the family that considers themselves a "writer".
